Oocyte Freezing in Indore

Freeze Your Oocytes Today for a Better Tomorrow

Oocyte freezing is a fertility treatment in which an egg is removed from a woman’s ovaries and frozen until she decides to get pregnant. After this, the egg is fertilized and implanted into the woman’s uterus, where it grows into a baby. The process of egg freezing is relatively new and is still growing in popularity in Indore. At Dr. Sushmita Mukherjee Fertility Clinic, we have years of expertise in Oocyte freezing, which is also known as Cryopreservation.

An oocyte or ovarian egg is removed from the ovary before it is fertilised and frozen. For those who are not interested in having children and would like to preserve their fertility, the egg can be used as an insurance policy against later infertility. At Dr. Sushmita Mukherjee Fertility Clinic, we have all the needed facilities and equipment for performing Oocyte freezing in Indore.

How Does It Work?

Cryopreservation involves taking an egg out of the ovaries and putting it in a medium containing growth factors and other nutrients that allow it to survive after being frozen. The egg is then placed in a freezer and kept there until you need it. Once the patient is ready to conceive, she is stimulated with hormones, to start her ovulation. After this, the egg is fertilised and implanted into the woman’s uterus, where it grows into a baby.

When shall we consider Oocyte/Egg Freezing?

Ovarian aging, the decline of oocyte quantity and quality over time, occurs naturally and progressively throughout a woman’s reproductive life. At a certain point, ovaries stop producing eggs, and ovulation ceases. This can happen earlier or later in life and is related to declining ovarian reserve. Women tend to reach this point of decline at around 35 years of age, although many do so well before that.

In general, the sooner a woman becomes concerned about the quality and quantity of her eggs, the more options she has for preserving fertility. For younger women, the decision to freeze their eggs can be made at any age. Women with medical conditions such as cancer are sometimes encouraged to freeze their eggs sooner than women who are otherwise healthy.

The decision to freeze your eggs, and when you should do it, is one of the most personal decisions you will make. Your doctor can help you decide if it makes sense for you to freeze your eggs, but ultimately you must make the decision yourself.
