Surrogacy is a process that involves the transfer of a woman’s egg to a surrogate mother who carries the pregnancy to term. Surrogacy has been used for centuries to have children, and it continues to be an effective way to have children today. Surrogacy can be performed using either donated eggs or one’s own eggs, but it is most commonly performed using the latter. Dr. Sushmita Mukherjee is a fertility specialist in Indore, India. She has helped many women to have a child through surrogacy and has an experience of over 30 years.

Our clinic offers all the major fertility treatments including IVF, In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), Artificial Insemination (AI), and Oocyte Retrieval Surgery (OOPS), Embryo Transfer Surgery (ETS) and Surrogacy. We also offer counseling services for infertile couples.

How does surrogacy work?

In Surrogacy, a surrogate mother will carry a baby in her body for nine months before giving birth. The mother then gives the child up for adoption or leaves him/her with the parents after the birth. The process of surrogacy is a bit different from what you might think. There are three parties involved: the surrogate mother, the biological mother, and the intended father.

The surrogate mother must undergo a number of screening tests and have a physical examination at the time of conception. She must also meet certain legal requirements in order to become a legal surrogate, but the rules vary by country.

Types of Surrogacy

There are several types of surrogacy: traditional, gestational, and commercial. Traditional surrogacy involves the surrogate mother using her own egg and being impregnated through artificial insemination. The child is therefore biologically related to the surrogate mother. In gestational surrogacy, the surrogate mother is implanted with an embryo created using the eggs of the intended mother or a donor, and is therefore not related to the child. Commercial surrogacy is a type of surrogacy in which the surrogate mother is paid for her services.

When is Surrogacy advised?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as it depends on the individual circumstances of the potential surrogate and the intended parents. In general, surrogacy is advised when traditional methods of conception are not possible or desirable, and when both the surrogate and the intended parents are committed to the process and comfortable with the arrangement.
